Diana Madsen

My name is Diana Madsen. I am a Web Designer living in San Francisco. I graduated with a degree in Art and Design, concentration in Graphic Design in 2006 from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Currently, I am a Web Designer at Nextag.

Using my professional experience and skills in the web industry, I create websites that are clean, simple, and user friendly. At the heart of great web design is a keen awareness of the user's experience. Anticipating needs and proactively solving potential problems ensures an enjoyable user experience. This philosophy, coupled with a focus on the business goals and monetization of the website, serves as the guiding principles behind the work I produce. For example, working on the website World Wide Learn, the primary objective in this redesign was to display high volumes of content, while providing the user an easy and understandable online experience. I created this experience using simple navigation, icons and other graphic elements to create an organized presentation of what the user needed to focus on to direct the individual throughout the website. For examples of this redesign, and others examples of my work, please feel free to look at my portfolio.

Additionally, over the past year, I channeled my passion for music into my music blog, Humming Tunes. Using my design and coding knowledge on a personal project during my spare time has been an invaluable experience for me since it allowed me to experiment and sharpen my knowledge of web design outside of my work environment.
